Make your Yard a Blooming Garden

Just about everybody wants a blooming garden. There are several strategies to achieve a blooming garden. My favorite is a combination of annuals and perennials. Annuals will give the most color. But perennials bring in so many more varieties. There is no doubt you will get the most color throughout the season with annuals. Some of the most popular annuals are petunias, marigolds, salvia, impatiens, geraniums, African Daisy, Zinnia

Annuals. If you choose to go with strictly annuals Is nice to be able to clean out the entire shrub bed every year and till the soil. Whereas if you’ve planted perennials you have to weed around them.

Blooming Shrubs and Perennials. All of the plants will bloom at different times and for different lengths. At least that is the goal. You wouldn’t want them to all bloom at once and then nothing blooming the rest of the year. So you wouldn’t want to choose all May blooming perennials for example.

Container Plantings work great to keep your yard a blooming garden. They add a huge amount of color with very little maintenance. Assuming you have a drip system installed to irrigate your container plantings.
