Teaching kids to read can be a lot of work and sometimes pretty discouraging. For months and months and months I promised my triplet girls that if they would learn to read I would through them a cupcake party with ABC cupcakes. During every reading lesson I used the promise of ABC cupcakes if they would just keep at it. As a parent teaching reading to 5 year olds taught me more patient than I think pretty much everything else in my life. But in the end all the work paid off! The girls learned to read and they earned their ABC Cupcake party. The girls were tickled they absolutely loved the cupcakes and party! After the party they begged for another one and so I’m figuring out new reading goals to reach to continue to motivate them to learn more. I highly recommend the ABC Cupcakes to motivate kids to read.
